If a service problem arises of an emergency nature, call the appropriate subcontractor shown on the list of subcontractors found in your Homeowner's Kit. However, before calling a subcontractor, be sure the service call is required and will not result in a service charge to you.
Example: During the extremely hot summer months, your air conditioning system may become overloaded, and as a result the breaker in your electric panel box which controls your air conditioner may be thrown to an "off" position, therefore shutting down your system. Under extreme conditions, this will happen as a safety measure to prevent a possible short circuit in your home. If the subcontractor is called to re-set the breaker, you will be charged for the service call. Be sure to check the problem thoroughly before calling, to avoid incurring unnecessary charges.
An example requiring emergency service would be a severe plumbing leak or roof leak. Here again, you as a homeowner should take all reasonable precautions to minimize any possible damage by shutting off the main water inlet valve to your home in case of a plumbing leak, or trap as much water as possible in case of roof leaks.
